Patrick Wang is an award-winning writer/director/actor whose nuanced and keenly insightful portraits of family and community have received major critical acclaim.

The Films Of Patrick Wang is a four-part collection of his feature films to date – an absolute tour-de-force of American independent filmmaking being made available to audiences across the UK & Ireland for the first time, with screenings at select cinemas from 18 February and a release on Digital HD to follow in April.

In The Family

(2011)

Wang’s directorial feature debut is an extraordinarily accomplished slice-of-life drama, told with warmth, humour, sensitivity and heart. Featuring an excellent ensemble cast,  IN THE FAMILY explores the dynamics of love, loss and family with a keen sense of truth.

The Grief of Others

(2015)

Wang’s second film is once again a study of family; the ones you choose and the ones you do not. Expertly examining the flaws, secrets and the needs at the core of people, THE GRIEF OF OTHERS is a nuanced study of loss with razor sharp focus.

A Bread Factory

Part One: For the Sake of Gold

(2018)

Wang’s two-part work, A BREAD FACTORY, leans more into the avant garde—blending elements of comedy, musical, drama, surrealism and slice-of-life to create something wholly unique. Wang’s skill for examining the human condition is out in full force as the community dynamics of Checkford are placed under a microscope with more humour, fun, and fantasy than ever before.

A Bread Factory

Part Two: Walk with Me a While

(2018)

Where A BREAD FACTORY, PART ONE sets the stage for bizarre antics, PART TWO rolls on the cast. Despite the swell of theatrics and eccentric set pieces, an edge of mystery and the sense of something-not-quite-right begins to creep in to the town, as the film ultimately must reconcile itself with reality, and the flaws, losses, and failings of people.
