We begin 2026 with the stunning, gritty, neo-noir GAZER co-written by star Ariella Mastroianni and director Ryan J. Sloan. Mastroianni plays Frankie, a single mother who takes a risky high-paying job to provide for her daughter, despite living with a rare condition that affects her perception of time. Armed with cassette tapes to combat her flaking memory, she is plunged into a shadowy world filled with conspiracies and lies while her mental state fractures into nightmares.

February brings us Regina Hall’s shining performance as Lisa, the manager of a sports bar, heading up a marvelous ensemble cast in the crowd-pleasing comedy SUPPORT THE GIRLS. ‘Double Whammies’ sells a big, weird American fantasy, but what happens when reality pokes a bunch of holes in it? Lisa’s incurable optimism is tested over the course of one, long and strange day. Writer/director Andrew Bujalski’s critically-acclaimed gem won Regina Hall the New York Film Critic’s Circle Award for Best Actress as well as Best Actress nominations at the Independent Spirit and Gotham Awards.

An outstanding exploration of memory and identity set in the near future the film follows 86-year-old Marjorie (Lois Smith), whose jumble of disparate, fading memories becomes secondary to her handsome new AI companion (Jon Hamm) which looks exactly like her deceased husband… Marjorie’s daughter (Geena Davis) and her husband (Tim Robbins) created ‘Prime’ to feed the story of her life back to her, but as their interactions develop it becomes clear that each of them has a very complex relationship with their shared histories, with each other, and with this new technology they’ve invited into their home.

This hilariously deadpan and boldly-stylised hell-scape of competitive suburbia took the Sundance Film Festival by storm. GREENER GRASS portrays an absurdist chain of events that unfurls with increasing fervour after one soccer mom gifts another her infant daughter just to be polite! The award-winning writing and directing duo Jocelyn DeBoer and Dawn Luebbe also star in this epic piece, alongside a host of US comedy talent including Beck Bennett (Saturday Night Live), Neil Casey (Ghostbusters), Mary Holland (Veep), D’Arcy Carden (The Good Place), Jim Cummings (Thunder Road) and Dot-Marie Jones (Glee).
